As a medical office clerk/representative, you will perform daily administrative tasks including filing, recording, maintaining records, copying, posting, and other similar duties. You will work in a private healthcare, fast paced environment and assist with billing and payments using a computer and other automated systems. You may answer inbound calls and assist or transfer patients to the appropriate party to assist with scheduling, payments, insurance or other patient needs.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
>Performing back office duties such as filing, faxing and scanning records.
>Answering phones and respond to patient needs or transfer appropriately.
>Processing medical bills and send them to patients or to insurance providers.
>Logging all incoming payments from insurance providers and patients and update internal records to reflect current balances.
>Sending subsequent bills when initial attempts to collect were unsuccessful.
>Calling patients to update records, such as billing addresses and methods of payment.
>Collecting co-pays and other required fees at the time of patient admittance.
>High school diploma or equivalent.
>Minimum of 3 years in a healthcare administrative role
>Basic software skills required.
>Ability to prioritize tasks and keen attention to detail.
>Excellent listening and customer service skills, both in person and on phone.
